SOF is a Registered Organization popularizing competition and assisting development of competitive spirit among school children.

SOF was established by leading academicians, scientists and media personalities with the aim of promoting science, mathematics, computer education, English, General Knowledge and professional courses. Science Olympiad Foundation has been striving for over two decades to promote scientific attitude and temperament through innovative activities and use of IT in learning process that involve school students across the country.

  • Q. How does a student benifit by taking Olympiad Exams?

    Ans. Participants of Olympiads are ranked on the basis of marks obtained. Hence, after taking the test, students can judge themselves academically at four different levels - within the school, at city level, at zonal level and above all at International level.

    Each student is provided a Student Performance Report (SPR). The SPR analyses the strong and weak areas of the student and also gives a detailed performance comparison of the student vis-à-vis other students at school, zonal and International level. Analysis of the student’s past 8 years’ performance is also provided.

    Students are suitably awarded based on their International, Zonal and School ranking. Prizes are announced annually and include cash awards, medals, gifts, certificates etc. Selective International toppers from each class are awarded at a grand prize distribution ceremony held in Delhi, presided over by eminent personalites. Prizes for zonal winners and school winners are sent to their respective schools. For the year 2017-18, a sum of Rs. 15.2 Crores will be incurred towards awards, felicitations, scholarships etc.

  • Q. We are interested to take part in the SOF Olympiads but our school has not yet received any information regarding the Olympiad. What can we do?

    Ans. Please send an email at "" with the name, e-mail ID, complete address of your school along with name and contact details of the Principal. SOF will send detailed information and registration forms to your School so that your Principal / Olympiad Teacher-in-charge can register your names for the exam.

  • Q. My school does not want to register for the SOF Olympiads, but I am very eager to write the exam. Can I do it on my own?

    Ans. SOF does not encourage individual participation. Students have to register through their schools only.

  • Q. I have already appeared for the Olympiads while I was in a lower class? Can I appear again?

    Ans. Certainly. This will give you an opportunity to improve your previous rankings, and if you are successful in doing so, you will again be eligible for certificates and prizes.

  • Q. My school has already dispatched the registration form. I am left out and I want to register myself for the Olympiad exam. What should I do?

    Ans. You can request your school authority to send your relevant details and fee immediately to SOF. SOF will accept it if it reaches them before the last date of registration (usually 30 days before the exam).

  • Q. I am employed in a school. We have come to know about SOF Exams and we are interested. How do we enroll our school with SOF?

    Ans. Send an email at "" with the complete address of your school in the following format and SOF will send relevant information and registration forms to you at the appropriate time.

National Cyber Olympiad (NCO)

The first of its kind in the country, the National Cyber Olympiad is now a global search competition that aims at identifying and nurturing cyber talent amongst the youngsters.


National Science Olympiad (NSO)

  • Level 1 Exam Date: 9th & 23rd November 2017

The National Science Olympiad is organized every year to motivate students to strive for better and deeper understanding of scientific facts and data and to enhance their reasoning, analytical and problem solving skills All school students are invited to participate in this unique contest that tests their understanding, level of knowledge, applications and power of reasoning.


International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO)

  • Level 1 Exam Date: 5th & 14th December 2017

The IMO (International Mathematics Olympiad) is a means to identify and encourage the mathematical creativity of children in schools across India and abroad.


International English Olympiad (IEO)

  • Level 1 Exam Date: 6th & 12th October 2017

The International English Olympiad (IEO) is a one-of-a-kind examination, and first in the history of English language testing in India. IEO is conducted in partnership with British Council.


International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO)

  • Level 1 Exam Date: 12th & 22nd September 2017

International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) was introduced in place of International Sports & Knowledge Olympiad (ISKO) from session 2017-18.


International Company Secretaries Olympiad (ICSO)

  • Level 1 Exam Date: 23rd 30th January 2018

International Company Secretaries Olympiad (ICSO) was introduced from session 2016-17 for class 11 and 12. This exam is conducted by SOF in partnership with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India.
