International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO)

1st International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) - 2020-21

International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) is conductd by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF).

General knowledge Olympiad program is targeted at young learners. As we all know that General knowledge about a wide range of subjects rather than detailed knowledge of a particular subject.General knowledge has been defined in differential psychology as "culturally valued knowledge communicated by a range of non-specialist media" and encompassing a wide subject range.

Participants of IGKO are ranked on the basis of marks obtained. Hence, after taking the test, students can judge themselves academically at four different levels - within the school, at city and state level, and above all at International level. Finally students are suitably awarded based on their international ranking. Prizes include cash prizes, computers, medals, CD’s, etc..

Each winner will be entitled to one award for an exam. The winners will be entitled to the higher level award only. For eg, the international top 3 rank holders will be entitled to awards based on their International ranks. Awards accruing to them for their Zonal ranks will be given to the next rank holder. Similarly, class award accruing to a Zonal award winner will be given to the next rank holder.

International General Knowledge Olympiad is a single level exam:
  • The test is organized in the respective schools of the participants during the school hours.
    • Competition is a written objective-type test of 60 minutes duration comprising for
      • Class 1 to class 4: 35 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions
      • Class 5 to class 12: 50 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions

    • There will be separate question papers for each class
    • The medium of the test is English
    • The exam is conducted during school hours.
